============================ DISKDUPE.NEW =====================================
This file describes the features that have been added to DiskDupe
===============================================================================
=============
Version 4.08
6/23/93
=============
Corrects a bug unique to the 4.07 version that would cause DiskDupe to report
an "Error 906 Buffer Memory has been Corrupted" when reading in a new master
disk using the Relay feature.
=============
Version 4.07
5/4/93
=============
IBM PS/2 Compatibility
----------------------
DiskDupe is now fully compatible with IBM PS/2 computers.
Code and Buffer CRC's
---------------------
Added checks to the DiskDupe code, disk buffers and image files to guard
against memory problems. Error 906, "Buffer memory has been corrupted"
indicates the image file was changed or that the memory in your computer
might be bad. Error 907, "Code memory has been corrupted" indicates that
there might be a problem with a TSR writing over the DiskDupe code.
Error 908, "Image File is Bad" indicates that the image file has been
corrupted. Any of these errors indicate a serious problem which should
be fixed. Image files that were made with previous versions of DiskDupe
are updated automatically to include the added CRC's the first time that
they are read by the 4.07 version (unless they are marked as read only).
/DAT Improvements
-----------------
The command line option /DAT can now be used anywhere on the command line
and all other command line parameters will override the information in
the specified data file.
EXE File without Overlays
-------------------------
The DiskDupe software now comes with only one executable file (no overlay).
DiskDupe requires about 350K of conventional memory to function.
Relay Bugs Fixed
----------------
Previously when the using the relay feature if a new source disk was of
a different density from the previous source disk DiskDupe would report an
error. Also if the number of copies was set to 1 with the source set to
Relay then DiskDupe would not copy continuously. Both of these bugs have
been fixed.
Lockup on Machines with Older BIOS Fixed
----------------------------------------
Earlier versions of DiskDupe 4.0 would lock up (beeping continuously) on some
286's without BIOS support for extended keyboard functions.
EMS/XMS Not Used
----------------
An earlier version of DiskDupe Trial listed the EMS and XMS Limits as
"No Limit", when in fact the Trial version does not include EMS and XMS
support. The current version lists the EMS and XMS limits accurately as
"Not Used". Also the only color option is listed as Black and White,
where it was mistakenly listed as Cyan in an earlier version.
